also...

In addition to this fantastic news, my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 8 year anniversary this weekend. I am so thankful to have him in my life, his supportive manner, love for me are nothing that can be replaced. These invaluable gifts are more than he could ever match with a material item. (but they are nice too! ;0P right?) We are going to a nice dinner, then I was given a room at the "W" hotel in San Francisco, then the next day we are going to Alcatraz and my big brother from England is coming to stay with us for 11 days! My crazy busy life!

Mardi Gras

I had lunch today with some of my girlfriends from Nursing School. It was great! Chill, and calm just what I needed. I got Mardi Gras beads and everything, we went to a little restaurant in Santana Row that ironically was Cajun in atmosphere and food. It was good. I think the name was Roux? Try it sometime.

Then today I got the call from the Nurse Recruiter from San Joaquin Community Hospital, where I had interviewed two weeks ago for a Labor and Delivery position with in the VERSANT New Graduate Program. After having had that interview feeling great about it I didnt think that I would be happy working there at least not as a L and D nurse, even though it is my second choice.

Today though I thought I would be offered a interview for the Surgical unit which was my second choice, instead I was told that the manager of the unit who oversees the area of the hospital assigned to Pediatric clients (no they dont have a Pediatric wing) was interested in taking me on. She liked how much experience, knowledge and passion I have for working with children. She told the Nurse Recruiter shed like to talk to me/interview me over the phone because she didnt have time to meet with me in person (nor did I really...so it worked out for both of us) anywho we talked for like an hour, I was able to pull out all my cards and I won her over! I got the job! I am a Pediatric Nurse! Cross training in Med/Surg. The unit is right now this way because they have never had the need for a Pediatric wing, but they have acquired a contract from Kaiser- which means that they will be recieving all of their clients and this will cause a need in expanding the Pediatric wing and NICU. The nurse manager is looking for individuals who know- the ins and outs and deep down dont just know their Pediatric knowledge but its who they are! This is me! So after my hour of discussion with her, I got a call an hour later from the Nurse Recruiter that the Nurse Manager would like to have me on her team! How exciting! I am barely out of school and have a job! Go mee! Not only that, I have the opportunity to be apart of something big, great and help build a part of an expanding hospital. I am always looking for ways to leave a mark and I think this is the avenue that I am meant to go in. Follow your dreams and they will come true~!

My first knitted hat...

I finally made my first knitted hat, its too big for me, but it fits Kraig and my brother. I am working on three others, two for me and one for Kraig. I am making two of them to be matching. It was easier than I thought it would be and I didnt need much help.

Hello again blogspot...heres an update.

After having deleted my blog spot, I decided to recreate it. It is a good way for those who I dont talk to often or who I never talk to for them to stay in touch with whats going on in my life. I regretfully wish that I hadnt of deleted it, because it had many good little scrapbooks of what happened last year, anywho moving on. I found out on Thursday that I am officially a Registered Nurse! What an exciting moment! I was so hysterical and more full of joy than I have ever been. I have worked six long years for this moment and now its finally here. I am still in shock to call myself a Registered Nurse! My family, friends and others around me are incredibly proud and some are inspired by it. I never thought that all of this would come out of me pursuing my goals. Anywho now I have to find a job, I have already had tw0 interviews, several phone interviews, and am on my way to have a few more interviews. I really would like for the one local to me to open up or become available. I wouldnt have to move like my best friends! ;( They're off to LA... I have an interview in Los Banos, on thursday, for Labor and Delivery. Waiting to hear again from Bakersfield for Surgical and then on March 6th, I have 2 interviews for UCLA. Could work me and UCLA, it would just be away from my family but I think it would be an exciting experience. I love change and actually thrive on it.
