Trip to Manhattan!

We did so much while we were there but there is still so much more to do! We started out walking around the first night just around Times Square checking it out. The second day we went to the Statue of Liberty

(missed the long ferry line too!-Met a nice New Yorker who let us cut in line and take about 3 hours off our wait, so be prepared for this line if you go there) and saw Ellis Island, from afar. Doesn't really look like its worth spending the day at. On the way to the Statue of Liberty we took the Hop-On/ Hop-Off bus learned a little bit about 5th avenue, the Empire State Building, Fashion District, Brooklyn Bridge,

Greenwich Village, and drove by Ground Zero and the Trinity Church. I would have like to spent more time in these areas but again not enough time! After the Statue we took the ferry back and tried to go to Coney Island to go on the roller coaster and get a Coney Island dog. Everyone we asked for directions wanted to make sure that's where we wanted to go, because its not really exciting right now I guess. Next year its supposed to be much better. We didn't end up making it because we got confused/turned around with the subway! Ugh! So many trains! LOL! That night was the AIL Annual Convention awards show so we had go back to the hotel and get ready for the celebration!...The next day it was raining :( but, we still toughed it out and tried to do a few more things, Kraig had his heart set on trying Lombardi's pizza the oldest coal burning pizza oven in the US! 100 years old! Good Pizza! Fresh too! It took half the day to find the place, because we got off the bus early-couldn't stand our tour guide Not Funny! Like our first guy! Anywho it was good! Not too expensive and busy even on a rainy week day. We then headed up to Central park, since it wasn't too far from our hotel and stopped to take a picture and headed back for our dinner at Bobby Flay's Bar American! OOH! I wish we would have gotten to meet him but I guess he was filming in L.A.

The next day was departure day :( . Kraig left around 5 am and I left at noon, so I had time to go back to Central park on my own and take some pictures!

That's it! I hope we get to go back someday and do the things we didn't get to do the first time.

Skydiving!

Whoo! I never thought I would actually do this but I did! I am glad too! Very proud of myself for doing something that I never thought I would. I enjoyed it a lot. My brother was the one who really wanted to go for his 17th bday. Tomorrow... I was sure that my parents werent going to let him but they changed their minds. I decided to join him without him knowing. My dad was able to keep a secret for a whole week! That's just as amazing! It was a 60 second free fall, and then a parachute ride for about 5 minutes. I didn't even scream! I really enjoyed the parachute part, the instructor was going to let me steer but I didn't want too. The scariest part was that he adjusted my harness in mid air! Eeek! but I was still strapped in so it was okay. The airplane was so small! Held only about 20 people, and when we got to the height that we needed he kind of stalled the engine so we were descending at the same time as the plane I guess. That was freaky, because I knew we were going soon. Then we got to the edge and that's it, the instructor pushed us out and there we went! He was nice, everyone there was super cool. They kinda rushed us though because it was a weekend and the start of the busy season. I kid you not the instructor was out of the plane and then went to get the next jumper. Back to back! We got there with only like 10 cars maybe in parking lot, by the time we were done it was packed! It was $100 for the jump and $75 for the video and pictures. I am so glad we got the video and pics because it makes it nice to share and have evidence for your memory.
Here's the video from start to finish...

Mel's Bridal Shower

It was so good to do something positive after having such a negative event occur. I got to see my 2 besties and spend some time with them. I would have like to spend more, but itll happen eventually. They are both persuing going back to Bay Area so maybe I will see them more since they wont be in LA any more!

Here is a shot of us in our great Black and White Dresses... unplanned :)

6 mos

Well its been almost 6 months that I have been working as a Pediatric Nurse! I have seen a lot of different stuff than I did in my last job. I also feel like because of my last job as an Adult care RN that I come more prepared on some things than other some of the other RNs that havent seen other types of patients. Such as dealing with Diabetes, and Wounds. However, I do know that they have a lot more experience than I do on things that are pertinent to our unit. Pre-Op, Post-Op for Appendectomy, Broken Bones, VP Shunt- (Intracranial Pressure), Heart Cath procedures. I am still learning a lot and enjoying it for the most part. I just wish I was in the Bay Area again and not out in Fresno. Ill do my time and come back when the time is right...I know though that I can go and see my family and friends there as well :) I will be having my 6 mos eval at the end of this month so hopefully it goes well!

Well yesterday Sunday May 2, 2010. My family and I went to SF. We hadnt been there in a while, and the weather was perfect! It was 77 degrees! We usually take the fairy from Alameda to SF so we did this time too. It was kind of a remembrance of Opa trip. We walked around bought a few trinkets and had Clam Chowder then went back home. We just really wanted to spend some time together and ride the ferry

Here's some pictures...
