So its been about a month now that I have worked as a official Nurse! I am still so proud of this accomplishment I cannot believe it came true! It feels so remarkable to have achieved this goal that I set out for myself. It just goes to show that whatever I want I can get with a lot of perserverance and hard work. There were a lot of trials, tribulations and tests along the way but that what has made it all so worthwhile.
Anywho few things. Kraig and I are now living together its going well, we have had a few kinks but been able to work them out! I feel so fortunate to have a man that is as supportive as he is. I take this for granted and certainly do not tell him as much as I should.
Next, my little baby brother is 16 years old! What a big day! I can still remember when he was born! Hes becoming a strong, independent and kind young man. I look forward to what the future holds for him. Although I am a little scared at the same time. He is doing the best he ever has in school and I am very proud of this accomplishment of his. He'll be driving soon! Yikes! Today he told me he would really like to pursue a career as a Movie Director! What a goal!
As Monday approaches it is the seven Year anniversary of my Grandmother's passing, every minute that I have of the day she is on the forefront of my mind. I have come to realize how much I am like her. I love her and miss her dearly.

My favorite song of all time!
With everything that has happened in the last few months I have had many thoughts about my grandma and how proud I know I have made her. I only wish she could be here to see it and share it with me. She passed before she saw me graduate high school and my eighteenth birthday. I know she is always with me and watching over me. This is just a little tribute to her that I use on a regular basis.

I'm a Nurse!
Well I completed my first shift as a true official nurse! In my definition anyways. I am on a MED-SURG Unit with Pediatric clients. I have not yet had the opportunity to work with any pediatric clients but the time will come. I had one patient she was easy, I got oriented to the unit and the staff...I was surprised at how clear everything is now. I had a 'light bulb" moment and came to realize that I made things so big when I was in school. I got to give 3 IV pushes one schedule and 2 PRNs. One I did all by myself! It felt so good. The one thing I would like to do better is learn to be more personal with my clients, instill the values that my hospital stands by. That is my goal for my next shift. I am hoping that I have two patients next time. I havent yet worked with my assigned preceptor, due to her not being available. I was assigned to someone else and then they got floated and then I worked with someone else. Yeah! What a way to start a new job! I am supposed to work with someone else again next time. I sent an email to my manager requesting not to come in and work with someone else other than my assigned preceptor. Anywho, I am enjoying everything that I am experiencing. I like all of my cohorts and most of the staff I have met. I will keep you posted on any changes or updates that happen along the journey!
